What is the theme of this zine?

Picturesque is a zine revolving around the Picture Perfect arc of the manga Toilet Bound Hanako-kun by AidaIro. We welcome both fluffy and angsty concepts!

Is this zine physical or digital?

This zine will be both digital and physical with a variety of accompanying merch.

Is this zine for charity or profit?

This zine will be for profit, however if it is physical, we will do our best to ensure that the maximum amount of funds go towards creating the best product possible.

What is this zine's rating?

The zine will be SFW and rated for teens and up.

Is shipping allowed in this zine?

This is not meant to be a shipping zine, and we would like to steer away from explicit shipping as the main focus of any one piece. However, canon-level interactions and implied shipping will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. This can simply be summed up by "no kissing" and "nothing romantic beyond what we've seen so far in JSHK."

Will you have applications for mod positions?

All mod needs are fulfilled at this time. Thank you!

Will minors be allowed to contribute?

We ask that applicants be at least 16 years old. Contributors under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to receive funds, or to provide their address for a complimentary copy of the zine.

How will contributors be compensated?

Contributors will be guaranteed a digital copy of the zine. If the zine is only digital, profits will be split evenly among the contributors. If the zine is physical, we will strive to give every contributor a copy of the zine, if not a full bundle.

ZINE INFORMATION

  • Artwork in the zine will be focused around the Picture Perfect arc of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun. Both fluffy and angsty themes will be featured.

  • We are accepting 30 artists, 8 writers, and 6+ merch artists, which includes 5 guests.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old by November 5. Contributors under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to receive funds, or to provide their address for a complimentary copy of the zine.

  • Accepted contributors will receive a free digital copy of the zine. We aim to provide complimentary physical copies if funds allow.

  • You may apply for more than one position, but you will only be accepted for one. Accepted merch artists will have the option of contributing a page.

  • JSHK examples are encouraged, but are not required.

Page Artists

  • You will be asked to provide three art samples as well as a portfolio link. Your samples should be the most representative of your style and will carry the heaviest scoring weight.

  • Please include at least one piece with a full background.

  • Traditional art is allowed for examples, but we ask that your zine piece is digital art, or you are able to scan it professionally so that it looks consistent with digital art pieces.

  • Samples will be evaluated on anatomy, color, and composition.

  • Please submit SFW art for your samples. You may include NSFW/gore in your portfolio.

Writers

  • You will be asked to provide two pieces of writing, as well as an optional portfolio (e.g. AO3). Your samples should be what you consider most representative of your style and will carry the heaviest scoring weight.

  • A max of 1.5k words per sample is preferred. You may take sections of longer works and submit them. They do not need to be complete.

  • Samples will be evaluated on style, grammar, and characterization.

  • Please submit SFW pieces for your samples. You may include NSFW in your portfolio.

Merch Artists

  • You will be asked to provide three art samples as well as an optional portfolio (e.g. Etsy). Your samples should be the most representative of your merch style.

  • You are not required to have previously produced or designed merch, but providing examples of such will positively impact your application.

  • If you are interested in creating prints, some examples should be similar to a page artist’s.

  • Samples will be evaluated on color and composition.

  • Up to two pieces of merch will be assigned based on your preferences.
